KJV and trinity

It's so strange to me that many today when asked what vrsion of the bible they use, They nearly always answer another besides the KJV. When asked why, usualy say , it is easier to read and understand, or it has newer research back up.
But you ask why they believe in the "Trinity God" , they run to the KJV and 1Jo 5:7 as fast as their little fingers can run. Why ? not because it is harder to read, but because it backs up what they already believe. When actually there is no place in 1 John that says there was a trinity in God. The only reason the three was mentioned, was to insure a true witness.
Jhn 5:31 ¶ If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. (then he went on to disclose three witnesses,John, The Father, and scriptures) (that is exactly what John was doing in 1 John 5. nothing more.
Jhn 8:17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
Jhn 8:18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

KJV 1Jo 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
1Jo 5:6 ¶ This is he that came by water and blood, [even] Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
1Jo 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
KJV - 1Jo 5:8 - And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

NIV
1Jo 5:5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
1Jo 5:6 This is the one who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ. He did not come by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
NIV 1Jo 5:7 For there are three that testify:
* Late manuscripts of the Vulgate testify in heaven: the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one. And there are three that testify on earth: the (not found in any Greek manuscript before the sixteenth century)
NIV - 1Jo 5:8 - the* Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.
Footnote:
* Late manuscripts of the Vulgate testify in heaven: the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one. And there are three that testify on earth: the (not found in any Greek manuscript before the sixteenth century)

Do you think the KJV people found something no one else has found, or do you think they made it to fit their belief, that God is three?

Laymond;
All translations of the Bible are suitable for correction in doctrine and conduct that is because it is the Word of God, discerned and understood by the Holy Spirit.
I personally have no problem with any of the translations, perhaps that is because the Word of God is in my heart and not on parchment only.
I know that you don't believe the trinity-doctrine, but even then it still doesn't profit you anything, that is because you believe in the same god as the Trinitarians.
Trinitarians believe just like you, that the Father is the person of Jehovah, and he (Jehovah) had an offspring a son by the name of Jesus.
You consider the second person (Jesus) to be a son, and a servant of the first person Jehovah just as the Trinitarians, except the Trinitarians claim that the second person (Jesus) is also fully God just like the first person Jehovah.
Trinitarians say that the Holy Spirit is the third person, separate from the other two persons and He is also fully God, but in your mind the Holy Spirit is the power of Jehovah.
So then the Trinitarians preach an 'unknowable god' of three persons and you preach an 'unknowable' god called Jehovah.

You ought to preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified and nothing else.
Jesus made it clear, that if you don't believe that He (Jesus) is that 'ONE' that the Bible speaks about, the only true God and eternal life, you will die in your sins.

I am very concerned for your eternal destination. It is not a question of knowing doctrines or knowing the Bible, but believing, trusting, preaching and proclaiming ONLY the Lord Jesus Christ in all things.
In any translation of the Scriptures; When it says that the Lord your God is 'ONE', then you always should ask, or tell me WHICH----ONE?
If He is ONE, I'd like to know which ONE?
I don't want to know, which three, or which two, but which ONE?
KJV (1 John 5:7) "the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost; and these three are one."
If those three are ONE, then please tell me which ONE? Again, I don't want to know which three, but which ONE? And also give me the Name of that ONE?

If that ONE is not the Lord Jesus, then you believe in the wrong ONE, and your religion, preaching and teaching is worthless, because you have given that glory to another and not to Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Again, my testimony is true and trustworthy, I do not lie.
Kind regards Paul
